Due to the fighting in Donbas talks began between Russia, Ukraine and western countries. They came to an agreement to stop the fighting and implement a ceasefire.
The fighting didn’t stop
So they came up with the Minsk 2 agreement in 2015 that consisted of a ceasefire and a withdrawal of heavy weapons in the area, Release poisoners of war and granting self-government to the separatist areas.
The fighting stopped.
The fighting started again and goes on into 2022.
